Challenge

As EV adoption accelerates, charging providers face pressure to deploy reliable charging infrastructure faster than ever. Traditional DC fast charging projects often require months of planning, utility coordination, and infrastructure upgrades before becoming operational. Electric Era set out to change that model by reducing deployment timelines while maintaining a premium charging experience for drivers. Its North Port, Florida Costco installation is a strong example, going from groundbreaking to live operation in just 54 days, well ahead of typical industry deployments.

While Electric Era's battery-backed charging architecture accelerated site deployment, the company also needed a payment solution that could keep pace. The payment terminal had to withstand demanding outdoor environments, integrate cleanly with its software platform, and provide an intuitive payment experience that let drivers tap, pay, and charge.

Our Payment Solution: the VP6800

To complement its fast-deployment charging platform, Electric Era selected the ID TECH VP6800 Smart Payment Terminal.

The VP6800's rugged design made it a good fit for unattended charging stations installed in public parking lots.
